Jiuxiao Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Northern Guangxi. The Jiuxiao Fm was named by the Party of Regional Geological Survey, Guangxi Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources in 1987. The type section is in Jiuxiao Village, Dongxing, Huanjiang County, Guangxi Zhuangzhu Zizhiqu (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region). It is the lowermost stratigraphic unit of Sipu Gr (Sibao Gr).

Lithology and Thickness
In the type section, the meta-sandstone and siltstone are the dominant elements in the Lower part of the formation, while Upper part is composed of metamorphosed argillaceous rock, mainly grey-green and grey-black leptite, meta-sandstone, schist (phyllite or slate). The exposed thickness is recorded as over 3000 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Bottom is not seen.
Upper contact
The formation conformably grades upward into overlying Wentong Fm or is unconformably covered by Baizhu Fm of Danzhou Gr.

It is basically distributed in the Huanjiang and Sipu area, northwestern Guangxi,
